Meet the project 34 team

Cory Hahn

President & Co-Founder

Cory was born and raised in Southern California, where he grew up with a genuine love for the game of baseball. Despite suffering a career-ending and life-altering spinal cord injury in college, his competitive spirit is incomparably strong and he has devoted his life to pushing forward and to walk again. Cory graduated with a Business Management and Communications degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona. He continues his passion for professional baseball and is currently working for the Arizona Diamondbacks as the Coordinator of Professional Scouting. In addition to baseball, he has an incredible passion for making a positive impact in our world and making it a better place, from which blossomed the idea of Project 34.

Trevor Williams

VP of Brand Recognition & Co-Founder

Trevor is a husband, father, son, brother and a friend. An MLB veteran of 9 seasons who has been part of Project 34 since its inception, Trevor resides in San Diego with his wife Jackie and 4 children. Serving as co-founder of Project 34, Trevor and Cory grew up playing travel baseball together, eventually following each other to Arizona State University where they were roommates throughout college.

Jackie Williams

Board Member

With an education and background in nursing, Jackie has a passion for working in healthcare. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Gonzaga University, though she does not currently practice as a Registered Nurse. She is blessed to be a full-time mom to her and Trevor’s four children, as they travel the country and follow Trevor as he pursues his dream playing Major League Baseball. Jackie is excited tell the Project 34 story and cultivate relationships within the community. When she’s not on an airplane or at a baseball game, Jackie loves cooking, reading and drinking all the coffee she can get her hands on.

Tanner Bush

Board Member

Tanner is an Arizona kid who grew up with a passion for sports. He attended Arizona State University, earning his undergraduate degree in Business and his Master’s degree in Legal Studies. He also worked as a student manager for the Sun Devil baseball team. He currently works for a construction firm in Phoenix. During Tanner’s free time, he enjoys attending sporting events, traveling with his wife Megan and their three kids, rec-league sports, and spending time with his family.

megan bush

Board Member

Megan grew up in Arizona with a passion for dance and working with children. She pursued her dreams by obtaining both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Elementary and Special Education from Arizona State University. In her daily life, Megan loves running, eating dessert, and spending time reading and playing outside with her husband, Tanner, and three wonderful children.

Katie barton

Board Member

Katie grew up in Gilbert, Arizona and has been donating her time to local charities from as young as she can remember. In high school, Katie served as class president and made community service a weekly event. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. While at ASU, Katie was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority where her love for philanthropy and serving her community grew. For the past six years, Katie has been an Autism Special Education teacher for children 3rd-6th grade. In her free time she likes to bake, travel, read, and watch Ohio State football- OH!

sam cerbo

Board Member

Sam is a long-time friend of Cory’s, having known him since the ASU baseball days over 10 years ago. Sam is a former D-1 baseball player and coach. He lives in Arizona with his wife, Darby, who is also a Project 34 board member. He is currently a firefighter in the East Valley.

Board Member

Darby has known Cory since their days at Arizona State. She has helped out with Project 34 since the inception, but was recently added as an official board member. Darby is a former Arizona Cardinals cheerleader and now works for the team as part of their game day operations staff. Darby is also an Emergency Room RN at a local hospital.

kristen purnell

Board Member

Kristen grew up in philanthropy as a part of her family foundation where she learned the ins and outs of working with nonprofit organizations. In her experience as an NFL cheerleader, she found a passion for giving back and became involved in several organizations throughout the greater Phoenix area. She is also the Family Council Chair and Board Secretary for the WHH Foundation, a member of the Aspen Institute Society of Fellows and the Pacific Council on International Policy. When she’s not working with clients or in her community, Kristen loves watching Arizona Cardinals Football with her husband Patrick, traveling, running, reading The Economist and listening to true crime podcasts

patrick ryan

Board Member

Patrick grew up in Minot, ND making his way to Arizona after graduating from the University of North Dakota. He’s always had a love of sports with a passion for golf, football and hockey, playing all three throughout high school and receiving a scholarship in golf in college. Patrick has been involved in Project 34 since 2018, is a new member of the WHH Foundation and is looking forward to continuing to engage in philanthropy as a board member for Project 34. In his spare time Patrick enjoys golf, NL poker, the Las Vegas Golden Knights, Tottenham Hotspur, F1, watching football and traveling the world with his wife Kristen, and sloth conservation.

andy workman

Board Member

From a young age of selling lemonade on the neighborhood corner in Chandler, Arizona, Andy Workman is a serial entrepreneur across multiple states. Andy met Cory at Arizona State University as teammates on the baseball team and an instant brotherhood was formed. With a degree in Finance from ASU’s W.P. Carey School of Business, Andy has over eight years of experience curating and operating large revenue enterprises with a collective staff of over 200 members. He is excited to share in Cory’s passionate journey and hopes to provide scalability to the foundation to reach the lives of many more. When not working, Andy enjoys golfing, D-I-Y home construction projects, and lounging with family and friends.
